Mise-en-scene
Mise-en-scene is a french term which refers to elements within a scene elements such as:
1) Settings and props
2) Lighting and colour
3) Facial expression and body language
4) Costume, hair and make up
5) Location of subject or object in the scene.
When producing media every element must be heavily analysed and well thought out, a good media piece cannot be rushed, you must relate the elements of mise-en-scene to the genre you trying to create as well this means for example if your creating a horror film you must have all the conventions of a horror film such as dark lights, scared, tense and emotional facial expressions and the right kinds of props such as weapons.
