Lighting exercise
The whole class put together an exercise showing a variety of different lighting types within media:
Shot One - Key light:This is used to highlight the shape and dimension of the subject, the light is place at one side of the camera or subject, this creates an effect of one side being well lit and one side having a type of shadow'd silhouette.

Shot Two - Back light: The light is placed behind the object/subject, which is in contrast to key and fill light as the light is not provided directly, this can be used to create a silhouette of a subject, normally its purpose is to add definition and highlights to the outline of a subject.

Shot Three - Filler light:The filler light is normally used as a secondary light to fill the shadow created by the primary light, giving the shadow a less of a tint, this helps to prevent contrast swell.

Shout Four - Under lighting: This is when the source of lighting is planned underneath the subject, this is used a lot in media production when telling a horror story and used a lot in the horror genre in general.

Shot Five - Top lighting:This is when the source of light is placed above the subject or object, usually used to high light certain features of the face and this type of lighting is typically used a lot in modelling .

Shot Six - Low key lighting:This is created by using only the key and back lights similar to filler light, this creates a strong contrast between light and dark areas, forming different shades of light this is known as an chiaroscuro effect.

Shot seven - High key lighting:This is when a lot of fillers are used and there is no shadows as a result of this, this is used more frequently than other types of lighting
.
