The trailer will appeal to the audience beacause they may have never seen a film like this before and this may shock them and appeal to the audience making them want to watch the film as it would be a fun, new exciting experience, nothing like anything they would have seen before.
Thrillers are normally fast paced with alot of action and alot of suspense and possibly some twists on the story line for example in "North by North West" The lady kept changing from a kind of helper to an antagonist for a little while.
Storyline
A new york advertising executive called Roger Thornhill is mistaken for a government agent by spies and is kidnapped, he then escapes and then must find a man in order to clear his name along his journey he meets a blonde lady and has a variety of different conflicts and situations along that journey.
Thriller Devices
North by northwest contained a MacGuffin this was the microfilm, this was the point of interest and what the plot revolved around as various characters were trying to locate the microfilm, throughout the film.
There was alot of suspense within the films in various sistuations as the main character could have died as well as the blonde spy he was with, as well as various situations were he could of been arrested or kidnapped.
